Base Salary
$191k - $267k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead iOS architecture and technical strategy for features that improve video discovery, consumption, watch time, retention, and daily active video users.
- Design and build immersive video viewing surfaces and intuitive native iOS user experiences.
- Partner with senior management and cross-functional teams to support rapid prototyping, A/B testing, experimentation, and data-informed product decisions.
- Translate HLS streaming, personalized recommendations, and media platform capabilities into seamless iOS features.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, Data Science, backend, Feeds, and ML ranking teams on roadmap and execution.
- Establish best practices for media integration, complex media lifecycles, app stability, rendering performance, and constrained-device or network scenarios.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on iOS experience developing user-facing native mobile applications at scale using Swift.
- Experience leading cross-team technical projects tied to business outcomes such as watch time or daily active users.
- Strong data-informed decision-making skills involving experimentation, funnels, retention, and Quality of Experience metrics.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, work at growth-team speed, and communicate technical trade-offs to peers and executive stakeholders.
- Hands-on experience optimizing video player performance or building feature-rich products on core media playback components such as AVFoundation and VideoToolbox.
- Familiarity with HTTP Live Streaming and integrating with recommendation or feed systems is preferred.
