Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strategic IBM Mainframe applications supporting critical banking-sector business processes.
- Analyze business requirements and design, implement, enhance, and optimize technical solutions using COBOL, JCL, CICS, z/OS, and DB2.
- Diagnose and resolve production issues and improve application performance.
- Collaborate with international project teams on Mainframe modernization initiatives and automation or AI-supported solutions.
- Share knowledge and mentor less experienced developers.
- Support development and maintenance activities using Git and Bitbucket where applicable.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of commercial experience developing and maintaining IBM Mainframe applications.
- Strong knowledge of COBOL, JCL, CICS, and z/OS.
- Practical DB2 experience, including SQL development, query optimization, and data analysis.
- Ability to analyze business requirements and independently design and implement technical solutions.
- Experience troubleshooting production issues and optimizing existing applications.
- Proactive, self-driven approach with accountability for delivered solutions.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within international project teams.
- English proficiency at minimum B2 level.
- Experience with Git, Bitbucket, and CI/CD processes in Mainframe environments is a bonus.
- Experience in banking, financial services, or insurance is a bonus.
- Knowledge of Mainframe modernization and AI-supported software development practices is a bonus.
- Experience mentoring or supporting junior developers is a bonus.
