Responsibilities
- Analyze, design, construct, test, implement, and support new or revised application systems and programs.
- Conduct feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, IT planning, risk technology activities, application development, and model development.
- Build and support Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Batch, and Spark applications.
- Design and develop microservices-based architectures and event-driven systems using Kafka.
- Develop and optimize enterprise applications using Oracle and MongoDB databases.
- Work with OpenShift clusters, CI/CD pipelines, deployment tooling, Docker, Kubernetes, ELK, Azure Cloud, and AWS S3.
- Consult with business users, clients, and technology groups to recommend programming solutions and support application operations.
- Assess risks, establish operating standards, ensure procedures are followed, and support compliance with applicable policies and regulations.
- Lead and mentor engineering teams and serve as an advisor or coach to junior analysts.
- Take end-to-end ownership of projects and initiatives while managing deadlines, changing requirements, and matrixed virtual teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or university degree, or equivalent experience.
- At least 6 years of relevant experience in an engineering role; 8–10 years of relevant experience is recommended.
- Experience in systems analysis and programming of software applications.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Java, Spring Framework, and Spring Boot, plus strong experience with Java and Spark development.
- Experience with Spring Batch and business rules management or decisioning solutions such as IBM Business Automation Manager Open Edition or Drools.
- Proven experience designing and building microservices-based architectures and implementing Kafka-based messaging systems.
- Knowledge of container technologies, specifically Red Hat OpenShift clusters.
- Experience with relational databases such as Oracle and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
- Proficiency with Git, CI/CD practices, deployment tooling, infrastructure-level concepts, Docker, Kubernetes, ELK, Azure Cloud, and AWS S3.
- Strong command of data structures, algorithms, design patterns, analytics, benchmarking, and diagnostic techniques.
- Experience managing and implementing successful projects and working with consulting or project management techniques.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
- Practical experience using AI tools and crafting optimized prompts.
- Ability to lead and mentor engineering teams, communicate clearly, work independently, make decisions, and operate effectively under pressure and changing requirements.
