Base Salary

$143k - $304k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Partner with stakeholders to determine user requirements for product and platform scenarios.
  • Lead dependency identification and design documentation for products, applications, services, and platforms.
  • Lead by example, mentor engineers, and produce extensible and maintainable code used across products.
  • Drive cross-team project plans, release plans, and work items using subject-matter expertise.
  • Act as a Designated Responsible Individual, including on-call monitoring for degradation, downtime, and service interruptions.
  • Improve product availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance through operational and engineering improvements.
  • Improve test coverage, organize and implement integration tests, and resolve issues across services.
  • Design and implement virtualized compute, storage, and networking capabilities for Azure Virtual Desktop and Windows 365 Cloud PC.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 6+ years of technical engineering experience with coding, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
  • Preferred: 7+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in C#, Java, C, or C++.
  • Preferred: 6+ years leading the architecture, design, implementation, and shipment of large-scale cloud microservices.
  • Deep expertise building performant, reliable, and secure services at global scale.
  • Experience delivering shared solutions across teams and solving complex problems across multiple products.
  • Track record of mentoring engineers, driving engineering best practices, fostering innovation, and developing technical excellence.
  • Experience using and championing AI-assisted software development tools and workflows for coding, testing, debugging, and design.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.

Benefits

  • The typical U.S. base pay range is USD $142,800-$274,800 per year; the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area range is USD $188,000-$304,200 per year.
  • Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
