Responsibilities
- Design, develop, document, and maintain infrastructure test automation frameworks and reusable automation components.
- Deliver end-to-end performance testing independently and perform performance analysis, tuning, and root cause analysis.
- Define performance requirements, goals, test environments, system configurations, and monitoring approaches.
- Support performance, resiliency, recovery, availability, failover, scalability, and disaster recovery validation across cloud, container, and hybrid environments.
- Review architectures, design documents, and code to identify performance bottlenecks and defects.
- Evaluate, deploy, operate, and maintain performance monitoring and testing tools.
- Collaborate with development, engineering, operations, business, and project stakeholders on requirements, risks, dependencies, priorities, and status.
- Analyze test results, document findings, and provide traceable evidence for governance, audit, and operational readiness reviews.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, knowledge transfer, and training support to junior team members.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of IT experience with demonstrated expertise in performance engineering, including analysis, testing, and tuning.
- Experience developing performance simulators or load-generation solutions using languages such as Java, PL/SQL, and Python.
- Experience with performance diagnostics and monitoring tools such as Dynatrace or AppDynamics.
- Experience with JMeter, LoadRunner, or custom load-generation tools.
- Strong performance analysis skills, including system metrics and thread or heap dump analysis.
- Broad experience with middleware and data-store technologies, including message queues, relational and non-relational databases, caches, stream processing, and batch processing.
- Extensive knowledge of Linux, especially process and system monitoring and performance measurement.
- Basic knowledge of resiliency engineering concepts, including high availability, disaster recovery, failover validation, RTO/RPO objectives, and observability.
- Understanding of resiliency and chaos testing across AWS, Azure, Kubernetes/OpenShift, cloud, and hybrid infrastructure environments.
- Experience creating testing strategies and automation design documents.
- AWS cloud services, Java application servers, JVM tuning, database query optimization, JMS or MQ, Splunk, Jenkins, source-code repositories, and chaos-testing tools are preferred or advantageous.
- Experience working with Agile development teams and strong verbal, written, analytical, and stakeholder-communication skills.
