Base Salary
$158k - $214k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own features and services end to end, including design, development, testing, release, and production operations.
- Manage query lifecycle services and route millions of queries across multiple Athena engine generations.
- Prove new engine builds are safe before exposing them to production traffic.
- Maintain a fast, reliable query submission path as underlying engines evolve.
- Identify system risks and drive increasingly independent technical designs.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- At least 2 years of non-internship design or architecture experience involving design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- At least 1 year of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
- At least 1 year designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded, or distributed applications, tools, systems, and services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
- At least 1 year of object-oriented design experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
- Preferred qualifications include 3 years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent is preferred.
