Responsibilities

  • Design, build, deploy, and productionize agent-based AI systems that improve clinical data extraction quality and reliability.
  • Own the technical design and delivery of multi-step agent workflows.
  • Integrate AI capabilities into existing production platforms while optimizing performance, scalability, and cost.
  • Collaborate with clinical AI, engineering, and product teams to prioritize problems, define success metrics, and deliver incremental improvements.
  • Develop evaluation and monitoring approaches to measure impact, guide iteration, and support safe deployment.
  • Provide technical leadership through documentation, design decisions, and pragmatic tradeoffs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field; advanced education or clinical/life sciences experience is a plus.
  • 7+ years of software engineering experience, including substantial production-system experience at scale.
  • 3+ years building and shipping AI/ML-powered applications in production, including LLM-based systems and multi-step or agent-based workflows.
  • Hands-on experience with LLM orchestration, structured outputs, error handling, and downstream-system integration.
  • Strong Python and modern software engineering experience, including testing, code review, workflow orchestration, and work in large existing codebases.
  • Experience designing and operating AI systems in cloud environments; AWS is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with CI/CD, observability, production support, retrieval-based or document-centric AI systems, and regulated industries is preferred or expected as stated.
  • Ability to work independently, deliver end-to-end from technical design through rollout, and collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
