Responsibilities
- Design and build software, frameworks, tools, and automation that improve product quality and engineering efficiency.
- Develop scalable automated testing capabilities for APIs, services, integrations, user interfaces, distributed systems, and end-to-end workflows.
- Build reusable automation frameworks and shared engineering capabilities across teams and applications.
- Partner with engineers and architects to improve system testability, reliability, resiliency, observability, maintainability, and operability.
- Define approaches for test infrastructure, automated environments, test data, mocks, service virtualization, and dependency management.
- Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines and determine effective testing strategies across unit, component, contract, integration, API, and end-to-end layers.
- Investigate defects, automation failures, and production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and develop preventive solutions.
- Improve the performance, reliability, scalability, observability, and maintainability of automation and test infrastructure.
- Contribute to application and service code to improve testability, instrumentation, reliability, or system behavior.
- Lead technical discussions and influence engineering standards related to automation, quality, reliability, testing strategy, and continuous delivery.
- Evaluate and apply AI-assisted engineering approaches and tools for test generation, failure analysis, coverage analysis, defect detection, and productivity.
- Mentor engineers and help improve automation, software quality, and engineering practices across the organization.
Requirements
- Significant hands-on software engineering experience designing and building automated testing solutions.
- Strong programming skills in one or more languages such as JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, Python, or similar.
- Experience designing, developing, and maintaining automation frameworks using Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or comparable tools.
- Strong experience testing APIs, backend services, integrations, data flows, and distributed systems.
- Understanding of modern software architecture and complex interactions across applications, services, infrastructure, and data layers.
- Strong understanding of unit, component, contract, integration, API, and end-to-end testing strategies.
- Experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery workflows.
- Experience debugging complex systems and performing root-cause analysis across application, service, data, infrastructure, and automation layers.
- Understanding of software design principles, maintainability, testability, observability, and engineering best practices.
- Experience with Git, GitHub, pull-request workflows, and modern software development practices.
- Experience contributing to architecture, technical design, or platform-level decisions.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools, AI frameworks, agents, or AI-enabled automation, or strong interest in emerging AI-driven engineering approaches.
- Familiarity with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, MongoDB, MySQL, observability platforms, and DevOps practices is a plus.
- Strong communication, collaboration, written English, and verbal English skills.
- Experience mentoring engineers and improving technical practices across a team.
