Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance Appian applications, including process models, SAIL interfaces, business rules, data structures, and records in the P3 environment.
- Design workflow automation, case management, and approval solutions for Air Force PA business processes.
- Gather requirements and translate functional requirements into technical Appian designs and implementations.
- Build API integrations connecting P3 with external Air Force systems, including AES, GPC, AFORS, Vector, and directory services.
- Write and optimize SQL queries supporting data models, reporting, business logic, and data integrity.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, user acceptance testing, and production troubleshooting.
- Collaborate in an Agile/Scrum team and manage work items in Jira.
- Document code, design decisions, implementation details, and team best practices.
- Continue developing Appian skills and pursue relevant certifications with team support and mentorship.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship or eligibility to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- 2–4 years of software development experience, including 1–2 years of direct hands-on Appian development.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Appian Certified Associate Developer Level 1 or Appian Certified Application Developer Level 2 certification.
- Understanding of business process management and software development life cycle concepts.
- Practical experience with Appian process models, SAIL interfaces, business rules, CDTs, and records.
- Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL.
- Basic familiarity with API integration concepts and REST/SOAP web services.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum and tools such as Jira.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Preferred qualifications include Appian Senior Developer certification or progress toward it, workflow or case management experience, external-system integrations, DoD or federal contracting experience, government compliance or Section 508 familiarity, data migration or ETL experience, Appian platform architecture knowledge, and Git or CI/CD experience.
