Responsibilities
- Tackle the team’s largest and most complex problems from technical design through launch.
- Deliver backend solutions used by other teams and products.
- Plan and execute large projects and resolve complex architecture challenges.
- Apply architectural standards to new projects and lead code reviews and documentation.
- Handle complex bug fixes, particularly for high-risk problems.
- Partner across Engineering teams on company-wide initiatives spanning multiple projects.
- Contribute software engineering expertise across programming languages.
- Mentor junior engineers and influence technical decision-makers across the organization.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in multiple hands-on software or technology leadership roles with end-to-end software development lifecycle responsibility.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- Expertise in one or more prominent programming languages such as Java, Python, Kotlin, Go, or Scala.
- Proficiency in Java or NodeJS and experience with at least one additional language.
- Hands-on experience with public cloud offerings and understanding of SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS environments.
- Ability to evaluate trade-offs involving correctness, robustness, performance, space, and time.
- Experience in Developer Experience or Developer Productivity.
- Experience mentoring engineers and influencing organizational decision-makers.
- Ability to consider customer impact in technical decisions.
- Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment.
