Responsibilities
- Own High Value Senders technology strategy, architecture, and domain-level design reviews.
- Define architecture and ownership across web, mobile, and backend systems for high-value transfer journeys.
- Solve scaling, latency, dependency, reliability, and workflow-recovery problems in distributed financial systems.
- Create new products and enable measurable, safe 0-to-1 launches with extensible technical foundations.
- Establish standards for reliability, security, privacy, quality, testing, observability, deployment, and maintenance.
- Lead AI adoption in software delivery, including appropriate-use boundaries, evaluation methods, and review standards.
- Mentor staff and senior engineers, grow technical leaders, and improve team autonomy and engineering effectiveness.
- Partner across engineering, product, design, marketing, analytics, identity and trust, money movement, pricing, and Core Transfer Experience.
- Remain hands-on through system analysis, meaningful code reviews, prototypes, and production contributions.
Requirements
- 12+ years of software engineering experience, including substantial experience designing and operating large-scale customer-facing distributed systems.
- Deep backend expertise with Java, Kotlin, Go, or Python, plus experience with customer-facing web and mobile systems using technologies such as TypeScript, React, or native mobile frameworks.
- Advanced distributed-systems design expertise, cloud infrastructure experience, and experience safely evolving architectures in production.
- Track record of setting domain-level technical strategy, leading large-system design reviews, enabling autonomous teams, and informing organizational design.
- Experience establishing engineering and operational standards across teams, including reliability, security, privacy, maintainability, and technical-risk management.
- Strong customer and product judgment with the ability to resolve ambiguous cross-organizational problems and connect technical decisions to business outcomes.
- Hands-on use of AI in software delivery, including validating practices, defining review standards, and evaluating improvements in speed, quality, or efficiency.
- Preferred experience in cross-border payments, high-value transactions, regulated financial services, funding, identity, risk, compliance, wealth products, experimentation, customer growth, retention, or global payment experiences.
