Responsibilities
- Own High Value Senders technology strategy and architecture across web, mobile, backend, and shared platform systems.
- Create and launch 0-to-1 products and customer experiences with measurable outcomes and safe rollout controls.
- Adopt AI in software delivery and establish domain-level standards for appropriate use, evaluation, correctness, security, and maintainability.
- Lead architecture and design reviews, resolve cross-team ownership and dependency issues, and guide system evolution and migrations.
- Establish reliability, security, privacy, quality, testing, observability, deployment, maintenance, availability, and latency standards.
- Design resilient integrations and recovery paths for asynchronous financial workflows, including transaction state, retries, and failure handling.
- Mentor senior and staff engineers, strengthen technical leadership, and improve team autonomy and engineering effectiveness.
- Partner with engineering, product, design, marketing, analytics, identity and trust, money movement, pricing, and Core Transfer Experience teams.
Requirements
- 12+ years of software engineering experience, including significant experience designing and operating large-scale customer-facing distributed systems.
- Deep backend expertise with Java, Kotlin, Go, or Python and experience shaping customer-facing web and mobile systems with TypeScript, React, or native mobile frameworks.
- Advanced distributed-systems design expertise, cloud infrastructure experience, and experience resolving production scaling, latency, data-quality, and dependency problems.
- Track record of setting domain-level technical strategy, leading large-system design reviews, segmenting architecture and ownership, and developing technical leaders.
- Experience establishing engineering and operational standards across teams with sound judgment regarding reliability, security, privacy, maintainability, and business risk.
- Strong customer and product judgment, with the ability to resolve ambiguous cross-organizational problems and connect technical proposals to business outcomes.
- Hands-on experience using AI in software delivery and scaling effective practices involving validation, review standards, and measurement of speed, quality, or efficiency.
- Preferred experience with cross-border payments, high-value transactions, regulated financial services, financial integrations, wealth-related products, experimentation, customer growth, retention, personalization, or global markets.
