Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services in a microservices architecture using Scala and Java/Spring Boot.
- Optimize production service performance, cost, reliability, and data management across Snowflake, Trino, and Apache Iceberg.
- Drive innovation in semantic layers, query optimization, and analytics capabilities.
- Collaborate with product, UX, and frontend teams to deliver high-scale features from inception to production.
- Mentor junior engineers and elevate the team’s technical capabilities.
Requirements
- 8+ years of backend development experience focused on robust, data-intensive solutions.
- Experience designing and developing microservices using AWS, Kubernetes, queues, databases, and Tilt.
- Experience or expertise in query optimization, data analytics, semantic layers, and performance optimization in data-intensive environments.
- Curiosity about and demonstrated use of AI tools and new technologies to improve workflows and problem-solving.
- Strong communication, complex problem-solving, self-direction, and innovation skills.
- B.Sc. in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
