Responsibilities
- Produce logical, physical, implementation, process, application, and cloud infrastructure architecture designs.
- Design highly scalable, efficient, secure, performant, and highly available distributed systems.
- Optimize cloud costs through waste identification, automation, and autoscaling.
- Support DevOps teams with CI/CD automation and application teams with governance, privacy, compliance, and risk analysis.
- Lead production issue root-cause analysis and resolution.
- Define domain models, interoperability designs, API and messaging designs, and data models with Solution Architects.
- Develop proofs of concept for handoff to technical leads and development teams.
- Lead and influence architecture standards, communities of practice, and architecture councils.
- Provide technical leadership, training, presentations, and white papers for technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirements
- Significant experience as a software engineer and a consistent record of delivering application and cloud solution architectures.
- Experience architecting highly scalable and efficient distributed systems using open-source tools.
- Extensive experience selecting and implementing cloud services, primarily AWS.
- Detailed understanding of messaging services, cloud patterns, multi-tenancy, sharding, priority queues, throttling, sidecars, and the CAP theorem.
- Hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL solutions, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, and other relational databases.
- Very strong Java skills plus experience with Python, Spring Boot, Node.js, and JavaScript.
- In-depth understanding of HTTP and REST API design, management, and consumption.
- Experience with enterprise integration patterns and authentication methods such as SAML, OIDC, and OAuth 2.0.
- Experience designing large-scale systems that are scalable, extensible, performant, secure, and highly available.
- Strong communication, negotiation, influencing, analytical, and leadership skills across technical and business teams.
- Awareness of GDPR and ISO standards.
- Desired knowledge of risk management, customer and third-party risk, regulatory markets, financial markets, banking, and news.
