Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance and direction to business and technical teams, contractors, and vendors.
- Develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others.
- Lead adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices, including code review, refactoring, test acceleration, release readiness, and incident analysis.
- Establish validation standards for secure coding, peer review, automated testing, and AI-generated code quality, performance, and security.
- Use Software Development Life Cycle tools, frameworks, automation, and AI-assisted development capabilities to improve engineering outcomes at scale.
- Advocate for firmwide engineering frameworks, tools, and practices and influence project decision-makers on emerging technologies.
- Coach senior engineers and leads on responsible, secure, and compliant AI-assisted engineering practices.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
- 10+ years of Java full-stack development experience, including 3+ years of technical leadership.
- Expertise in Java 11+, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, Hibernate/JPA, and RESTful API design and implementation.
- Strong React front-end development skills and understanding of relational databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Oracle.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP and with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience leading enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input/output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Proficiency with AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot or similar assistants, plus strong prompt engineering skills for large language models.
- Ability to balance hands-on technical work with leadership responsibilities and to deliver complex projects on time and within scope.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
