Lead Software Engineer

Responsibilities
- Write, test, and release server-side Python, Java, and JavaScript code.
- Build scalable, performant, and fault-tolerant deployments using AWS, Node.js, Django, and Flask.
- Orchestrate deployments to AWS-based hosting environments.
- Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and security assessment processes.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers on cross-functional product development.
- Implement asynchronous tasks and distributed systems using queues and related infrastructure.
- Craft continuous integration and delivery workflows.
- Present technical work to peers and stakeholders.
- Help grow and develop other engineers.
Requirements
- General knowledge of data structures, web application deployment patterns, and networking.
- Experience working on a team that built a large web application.
- Extensive experience with backend development languages including Python and Java.
- Experience with MVC frameworks, relational databases, and object-relational mappers.
- Experience implementing asynchronous tasks with queues in distributed systems, using tools such as Celery, Resque, Rqueue, RabbitMQ, AWS SQS, or Redis.
- Experience with complex AWS or other cloud-provider deployments using tools such as AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or Kubernetes.
- Experience with CDN infrastructure such as Akamai, AWS CloudFront, or Cloudflare.
- Experience creating continuous integration and delivery workflows using Jenkins, Spinnaker, or Helm Charts.
- Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills, along with collaborative experience.
- Experience growing other engineers.
