Base Salary
$240k - $420k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect and design RaptorDB deployment, operations, and resilience solutions across hybrid infrastructure.
- Develop backup, restore, replication, and failover systems for highly available and scalable database operations.
- Drive adoption of Kubernetes, Cloud-Native PostgreSQL, and other cloud-native technologies.
- Write maintainable code using software architecture, automated testing, code review, and deployment best practices.
- Lead performance analysis and optimization for backup and restore times, recovery time objectives, and resource utilization.
- Respond to production incidents and provide expert database operations guidance to internal and customer-facing teams.
- Create documentation, runbooks, and architectural decision records.
- Provide technical direction and lead cross-functional architecture and design sessions.
Requirements
- 12+ years of software engineering experience, including 8+ years focused on database systems, infrastructure, or cloud platforms.
- Deep expertise in database operations, operational management, and backup and restore strategies.
- Experience designing and building distributed systems with high availability, failover, and disaster recovery architectures.
- Hands-on proficiency with multiple programming languages, including Go and Python or equivalent.
- Experience with Kubernetes and database operators.
- Experience operating databases in cloud environments.
- In-depth Linux knowledge and strong technical problem-solving skills.
- Experience setting technical direction, making architectural decisions, and collaborating across organizations.
- Excellent communication skills for explaining complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience integrating AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving.
- Open-source database experience is preferred.
