Base Salary
$127k - $155k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement deep learning models for biological image analysis and classification.
- Support deployment and maintenance of neural network models on AWS or directly on imaging instruments.
- Apply image processing and computer vision techniques to multimodal biological images, including segmentation, feature extraction, and quality scoring.
- Contribute to end-to-end ML pipelines spanning data ingestion, preprocessing, training, validation, and inference.
- Analyze single-cell and multiomic data to support biological interpretation of imaging results.
- Collaborate with biology, software engineering, instrumentation, molecular biology, chemistry, and data-engineering teams on experiments and model objectives.
- Explore imaging datasets to identify patterns, failure modes, and model improvement opportunities.
- Communicate findings and model performance metrics through reports and presentations.
- Evaluate advances in deep learning, computer vision, and computational biology for internal research problems.
Requirements
- PhD with 0–3 years of experience is strongly preferred, or a minimum of a master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field with 2–4 years of relevant experience.
- Experience developing deep learning models for image analysis is required.
- Proficiency with CNNs, Vision Transformers, U-Net, or attention-based models is required.
- Proficiency in Python, PyTorch, torchvision, OpenCV, Scikit-learn, NumPy, and Pandas is required.
- Knowledge of experimental design, statistical analysis, and quantitative reasoning about model outputs is required.
- Experience with biological or biomedical image modalities, cloud-hosted or on-instrument deployment, AWS, multiomic and single-cell data, and bioinformatics or computational biology tools is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work across scientific and engineering disciplines are required.
- The role requires frequently moving boxes weighing up to 20 pounds.
