Base Salary
$110k - $235k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build backend services with Python, FastAPI, and PostgreSQL to support real-time AI interactions, agentic workflows, LLM orchestration, and content pipelines.
- Define service boundaries, interfaces, and scalable architecture patterns for the AI platform.
- Integrate backend systems with LLM providers and implement orchestration, routing, error handling, guardrails, telemetry, and observability.
- Partner with Labs, product managers, and designers to turn early AI-agent concepts into production-ready international product features.
- Mentor engineers through pairing, code reviews, and ongoing technical guidance.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience building and shipping production backend systems, APIs, and microservices used by customers.
- Strong proficiency with Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, and AWS, plus a deep understanding of distributed systems, architecture, and data modeling.
- Proven experience designing, building, and deploying production-grade agentic AI workflows involving multi-step reasoning, tool/API orchestration, and LLM-as-judge or evaluation-driven quality gates.
- Strong debugging skills and the ability to deliver reliable, production-ready systems.
- Strong cross-functional communication skills and comfort working in fast-paced, iterative environments.
- Preferred: BA or BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred: experience with backend performance optimization, monitoring, profiling, and tuning for scale.
- Preferred: hands-on experience with LLM APIs, RAG pipelines, or production agentic workflows.
- Preferred: familiarity with vector databases, model serving, and cost/latency optimization for LLM-powered features.
- Preferred: experience with testing, automation, operational robustness, and products in legal, compliance, or other regulated professional domains.
