Base Salary
$203k - $274k/yr
Responsibilities
- Understand functional requirements and develop technical designs, specifications, code, and tests.
- Design and develop software using data engineering technologies.
- Size medium- to large-complexity work and manage timelines and deliveries.
- Spend approximately 90% of the role designing, coding, testing, and supporting production systems.
- Resolve defects and bugs across testing, pre-production, production, and post-release patching.
- Build and support large-scale enterprise data engineering pipelines and featurization systems.
- Participate in quarterly on-call rotations to monitor production systems and resolve errors and incidents.
- Collaborate with product management, engineering teams, and business units.
- Work according to software development and delivery practices including Agile Development, Scrum, or Extreme Programming.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience developing data engineering pipelines using Python, PySpark, Spark, SQL, Databricks, AWS, Elasticsearch, and Kafka.
- 7+ years of experience working with Big Data technologies.
- BS/MS in computer science or equivalent work experience.
- Strong Python and Spark experience and the ability to understand a large existing codebase.
- Experience with the full Software Development Life Cycle.
- Experience building and supporting large-scale enterprise data engineering pipelines and featurization.
- Strong understanding of software design and architecture processes.
- Experience with unit testing and Test-Driven Development.
- Demonstrated engineering and operational excellence, communication skills, and ability to explain complex technical issues to technical and non-technical audiences.
