Responsibilities
- Own platform availability, reliability, performance, operational health, SLAs, and service commitments.
- Act as the primary escalation point for critical and major incidents and lead incident, problem, and root-cause analysis through permanent fixes.
- Manage operational backlogs, Jira boards, ServiceNow queues, support priorities, governance, runbooks, and service standards.
- Drive platform modernization, automation, and DevOps adoption, including CI/CD optimization and infrastructure automation.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts and operational tooling using Python, Shell, PowerShell, and API integrations.
- Manage platform upgrades, infrastructure changes, patching, environment lifecycles, and enterprise security, risk, audit, and governance compliance.
- Monitor platform health using observability dashboards, logging, and proactive alerting, and automate recurring manual tasks.
- Lead vendor engagement, support escalations, contract reviews, and executive reporting on availability, incidents, risks, capacity, and improvements.
- Coach and mentor Run Engineers and support migrations, upgrades, and cloud transformation initiatives.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD practices and DevOps operating models, with experience in at least one of Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or Bamboo.
- Hands-on experience with Chef, Ansible, or Terraform is desirable.
- Scripting and automation capability in a language such as Python, Java, or Shell.
- Knowledge of OpenShift, Kubernetes, containers, microservices, infrastructure monitoring, and observability platforms.
- Strong experience in incident, problem, change, and release management.
- Working knowledge of Jira, ServiceNow, and Confluence.
