Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain critical components of Bloomberg’s Equity RFQ platform.
- Build scalable backend services, APIs, and modern frontend applications for global trading workflows.
- Design highly scalable distributed systems and low-latency services for real-time trading.
- Drive architectural discussions, technical strategy, and decision-making across initiatives and teams.
- Improve system performance, reliability, observability, and operational efficiency.
- Champion testing, monitoring, deployment, and code-quality practices.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, business stakeholders, peer teams, and clients across regions.
- Mentor teammates and contribute to engineering culture and technical excellence.
Requirements
- 4+ years of demonstrated software engineering experience with C++, Python, and TypeScript.
- Experience designing and building large-scale distributed systems.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, and software architecture.
- Experience developing and operating production services focused on scalability and reliability.
- Experience with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and modern development practices.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, communication, collaboration, ownership, and independent project-delivery skills.
- Preferred experience with financial trading systems, electronic markets, real-time transaction processing, distributed messaging, event-driven architectures, or FIX.
- Preferred experience with observability tooling, production operations, technical leadership, or platform modernization.
