Responsibilities
- Interface with technical personnel and stakeholders to finalize requirements.
- Write and review detailed specifications for complex system components.
- Design, develop, and implement software across multiple systems and product areas.
- Complete complex bug fixes and resolve complex technical issues.
- Translate complex product requirements into software designs.
- Implement development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews.
- Work in Agile, Waterfall, and other development environments with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Design and work with complex data models and multiple data storage subsystems.
- Train entry-level engineers and mentor less-senior software developers.
- Keep current with new technology developments and perform other assigned duties.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience.
- BS in Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- Advanced knowledge of software development methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.
- Strong proficiency with data manipulation language and optimization techniques.
- Strong understanding of normalized and dimensional data modeling principles.
- Strong knowledge of multiple data storage subsystems.
- Expertise with Java/J2EE, JavaScript, JSP, C/C++, HTML, XML, SQL, Windows, UNIX, and .Net.
- Strong research skills and knowledge of software development best practices and applicable toolsets.
- Knowledge of test-driven development.
- Ability to write and review detailed specifications, complete complex bug fixes, finalize requirements, and collaborate with technical resources.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
