Responsibilities

  • Serve as the principal technical escalation point for complex, high-impact, business-critical incidents and lead service restoration.
  • Lead cross-functional troubleshooting, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive improvements across application, database, cloud, infrastructure, network, identity, and security layers.
  • Define and mature SRE and observability practices covering SLIs/SLOs, error budgets, dashboards, alerting, instrumentation, event correlation, monitoring coverage, and reliability reporting.
  • Lead reliability, operational-readiness, supportability, disaster recovery, business continuity, resiliency, and failure-testing initiatives.
  • Design reusable automation, self-healing, and auto-remediation patterns to reduce operational toil and improve reliability at scale.
  • Provide technical governance and hands-on leadership for infrastructure-as-code, configuration management, GitOps, platform engineering, CI/CD, deployments, rollbacks, and release reliability.
  • Analyze performance and capacity trends and recommend scaling, resiliency, configuration, quota, and cost-optimization improvements.
  • Establish SRE standards, reference architectures, playbooks, runbooks, governance mechanisms, and reusable engineering patterns.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and lead proof-of-concept evaluations, technical recommendations, and adoption roadmaps.
  • Mentor senior SRE, production engineering, DevOps, and application support engineers and influence architecture and engineering decisions.
  • Lead reliability reviews with senior stakeholders, translate technical risks into business impact, and drive measurable cross-functional improvements.
  • Participate in an on-call or senior production escalation rotation when required.

Requirements

  • At least 11 years of progressive experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Production Engineering, Application or Production Support, DevOps, Cloud or Platform Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Significant experience leading complex enterprise reliability initiatives and supporting business-critical production applications.
  • Advanced experience with monitoring, logging, APM, and observability platforms such as Dynatrace, Splunk, and Grafana.
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows and/or Linux/Unix platforms, relational databases, SQL, APIs, integrations, and distributed application dependencies.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, GCP, and AWS.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD, source control, GitOps, deployment tools, infrastructure-as-code, and automation technologies including Azure DevOps, GitHub, GitLab, Argo CD, Terraform, and Ansible.
  • Strong understanding of networking, DNS, firewall rules, ports, load balancing, routing, certificates, application connectivity, identity, privileged access, service accounts, secrets, and enterprise security concepts.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex incident troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive improvements.
  • Ability to act as a senior technical consultant, mentor experienced engineers, influence architecture and engineering decisions, communicate with technical and executive stakeholders, and drive improvements without formal people-management authority.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred; equivalent advanced technical experience and demonstrated SRE leadership may be considered.
  • Relevant certifications in Cloud, DevOps, SRE, infrastructure-as-code, Kubernetes, ITIL, Linux, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud are beneficial.
