Responsibilities
- Take Discovery Agent prototypes, including Vertex AI-based systems, through design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
- Harden proof-of-concept agent code for production through error handling, observability, testing, and cost and latency awareness.
- Build test cases and evaluation checks for agent behavior.
- Support data ingestion and data pipeline work using AWS and Big Data tooling.
- Collaborate with Product and senior engineers to turn business requirements into shipped features.
- Contribute to monitoring, alerting, incident response, troubleshooting, and production support for an AI-driven service.
Requirements
- Have 1–2 years of experience in a software engineering or development environment.
- Hold a master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Have a solid foundation in Python or another backend language and be able to write clean, readable, testable code.
- Understand SQL, SQL or NoSQL databases, and basic API design.
- Have exposure to cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS, through coursework, internships, or personal projects.
- Be interested in AI engineering and have independently experimented with AI coding assistants or agent-style projects.
- Have built at least one project involving an LLM performing tool or function calls, chained steps, retrieval, or multi-step coordination.
- Be a clear communicator, effective collaborator, self-starter, and motivated to ship usable products.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with PySpark, Airflow, Dagster, OpenSearch, Elasticsearch, Spark, Presto, Trino, Hive, TypeScript, React, Node.js, Terraform, AWS CDK, LLM APIs, or agent frameworks such as LangGraph, LangChain, or AutoGen.
- Interest or coursework in identity verification, fraud, security, or fintech is a plus.
