Responsibilities
- Lead, design, and execute technical initiatives to improve Asana’s web application performance.
- Investigate and resolve high-impact scalability issues in the product and frameworks.
- Work across frontend infrastructure, data loading, and asynchronous execution systems.
- Collaborate with Infrastructure teams to improve visibility into performance and scalability problems.
- Empower engineers to identify root causes and address performance and scalability issues.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and mentor engineers on frontend infrastructure, performance optimization, and feature scaling.
- Drive technical projects through complex code and systems while implementing necessary changes.
- Communicate technical investments and their business impact to technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirements
- 6+ years of full-time professional software development experience working with large codebases.
- 3+ years of experience with modern frontend web technologies, particularly frontend infrastructure such as data fetching, routing, and build systems.
- Experience leading challenging technical projects and driving changes in complex systems.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Passion for web performance optimization and solving scalability challenges.
- Ability to navigate ambiguous problems with curiosity and structured methodology.
- Sound judgment in balancing development speed with code quality and maintainability.
- Curiosity about AI tools and emerging technologies, with willingness to learn and use them productively.
- Experience or willingness to mentor engineers on technical issues.
