Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable, cloud-native microservices for AI-powered experiences.
- Contribute to the technical roadmap for AI-native systems.
- Build and operate production-grade AI/ML systems, including RAG pipelines.
- Partner on architectural planning for AI agents and scaling AI workloads.
- Establish best practices for observability and cloud-native deployments.
- Improve CI/CD automation and developer workflows.
- Translate AI-first product direction into technical plans.
- Lead cross-team initiatives across multiple engineering domains.
- Set engineering standards for modern AI system design.
- Stay current on emerging AI approaches and apply them pragmatically.
- Collaborate with other Staff engineers to integrate AI capabilities.
- Provide guidance through design reviews and technical forums.
- Mentor engineers on AI-native system design and distributed architectures.
- Contribute to documentation and internal knowledge sharing.
- Help build a culture that values fast learning and practical AI innovation.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- 2+ years in a Staff-level or equivalent capacity.
- Proven track record shipping complex systems beyond basic CRUD applications.
- Strong expertise in distributed systems and performance optimization.
- Hands-on experience with production AI/ML features using LLMs.
- Proficiency in Java, Scala, or Python.
- Experience with Kubernetes and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Familiarity with vector search databases and AI infrastructure at scale.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD automation and AI-augmented workflows.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Strong communication skills to influence technical and non-technical partners.
