Responsibilities
- Develop, deploy, and operate Python and Julia services that control real-time operational processes for last-mile delivery.
- Build and operate applications that make data preparation, model training, optimization, and simulation available in production.
- Ensure system stability and operation across cloud and data platforms such as Kubernetes, Azure, and Databricks.
- Diagnose and resolve infrastructure problems and debug distributed systems.
- Build and improve observability through meaningful logging, Datadog dashboards and alerts, and cross-service tracing.
Requirements
- Solid production experience developing and operating Python services and APIs with FastAPI.
- Practical experience with Kubernetes and Azure or comparable cloud providers.
- Experience using observability tools such as Datadog.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines such as Azure DevOps, SQL databases, and debugging distributed systems.
- Initial experience with mathematical optimization, metaheuristics, discrete-event simulation, or comparable applications.
- Completed studies in computer science, business informatics, or a comparable STEM discipline.
- Ability to explain technical relationships clearly in German and English.
- Analytical mindset and interest in turning complex problems into innovative solutions.
