Responsibilities
- Own AI platform architecture areas and design integration patterns between AI capabilities and Marsh’s existing systems.
- Evaluate emerging AI technologies, define proof-of-concept success criteria, and form clear architectural recommendations.
- Collaborate with software engineers on focused proofs-of-concept, owning integration patterns, deployment topology, and roadmap fit.
- Build and maintain reference architectures, integration diagrams, technology radar documents, and documentation for humans and AI agents.
- Present architecture recommendations and contribute to the agenda of architecture councils, developer councils, and business forums.
- Navigate Marsh’s enterprise architecture and coach colleagues in the AI Center of Excellence.
Requirements
- Professional experience in software engineering, architecture, or technical design with a track record of contributing to design decisions.
- Professional experience designing or contributing to system architecture, including integration patterns, component decomposition, and technology selection.
- Understanding of cloud-native architecture across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Hands-on comfort with AI coding platforms and copilots such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, or similar tools.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to present technical recommendations to engineers and senior stakeholders.
- Ability to evaluate new technologies quickly and form clear architectural opinions.
- Preferred experience with AI/ML systems involving LLMs, RAG, embeddings, or agent frameworks.
- Preferred familiarity with enterprise architecture, AI-agent-ready architecture documentation, cloud architecture certifications, and architecture forums or technical presentations.
