Responsibilities
- Define and drive platform portability, framework standardization, dependency rationalization, and separation of processing cores from interactive front ends.
- Establish technical standards for inter-process and service communication, configuration management, logging, and observability.
- Own end-to-end technical design, development, validation, test automation, deployment, and production support.
- Provide architectural guidance for major software initiatives, modernization efforts, integration patterns, and technology standardization.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders to gain agreement on architecture strategies.
- Evaluate and recommend new software development and product integration tools.
- Work with international teams across time zones and travel occasionally as required.
- Collaborate with Quality Development on test plans and test cases.
Requirements
- Master’s or PhD in computer science or a related technical field.
- 10+ years of enterprise software development experience.
- Deep expertise in modern .NET and .NET Framework, including runtime behavior, hosting models, assembly loading, packaging, and target platform decisions.
- Strong understanding of cross-platform .NET and native-code constraints, Windows-only APIs, native/COM interop, 32-bit versus 64-bit implications, and portable alternatives.
- Experience decomposing monolithic or tightly coupled systems into services, including gRPC/Protobuf contract design and sidecar or out-of-process isolation patterns.
- Experience with containerization, PaaS, and IaaS.
- Working knowledge of data structures, databases, operating systems, distributed and messaging systems, and microservices.
- Strong background in client/server architecture, algorithms, object-oriented design, software design patterns, and architectural patterns.
- Experience with AI or machine learning, document or image processing, or OCR.
- Experience using Visual Studio Code with the C# Dev Kit or another Linux-based IDE, plus the GNU Compiler family or alternatives.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and practical experience with Agile/Lean software development methodologies.
- Preferred experience with NLP or text processing, Angular or React, C#, Angular, Delphi, Python, PowerShell, and InstallShield.
