Responsibilities
- Drive best practices and adoption of observability tools, especially Datadog.
- Optimize deployment methodologies using GitHub Actions and AWS ECS.
- Mature service management through adoption of SRE best practices.
- Contribute to infrastructure-as-code projects, especially in Terraform.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure optimal system operation and respond to large-scale incidents.
- Help shape team culture, processes, and norms as an early team member.
Requirements
- Deep hands-on knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools including Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Bitbucket Pipelines, CircleCI, and Buildkite.
- Hands-on software engineering experience as part of a larger team or project; open-source experience is acceptable.
- Experience scripting in Python.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and container schedulers including AWS ECS, AWS EKS, Kubernetes, and Mesos/Marathon.
- Hands-on cloud experience, especially with AWS; AWS certification is preferred.
- A degree in Computer Science, IT, or a similar field; a master’s degree is a plus, or seven years of equivalent experience.
