Responsibilities
- Develop the data warehouse through data model extensions, database programming, ETL/ELT adjustments, interface creation and maintenance, and ETL workflow automation.
- Version database and ETL changes in GitHub and support build, deployment, CI/CD, scripting, and recurring operational tasks.
- Own stable operation of the data warehouse solution by monitoring job chains, analyzing faults, resolving incidents, and handling operational issues.
- Support data delivery processes to downstream systems and participate in interface and database upgrades and migrations.
- Carry out system integration testing, including test-data provision and job-chain monitoring.
- Work scheduled early and late shifts at month-end and collaborate within an agile product team.
Requirements
- A degree in computer science, natural sciences, or engineering, or a comparable qualification.
- Very good SQL skills and confident command of at least one procedural database language such as PL/SQL.
- Knowledge of at least one relational or analytical database system, preferably Exasol, with the ability to transfer that knowledge to other systems such as Oracle or Snowflake.
- Experience developing and operating data warehouse systems and willingness to combine both responsibilities in a DevOps approach.
- Confident use of CI/CD tools including GitHub and Jenkins.
- Very good English skills at B1 level and willingness to work early and late shifts.
- Analytical thinking, problem-solving, communication, customer orientation, quality focus, independent working ability, and teamwork.
- Willingness to learn new technologies, work with AI-based tools, and operate in an agile environment.
- Desirable qualifications include several years of professional experience, Lua or Python, Exasol, automation processes, ETL tools, AWS data components such as Glue, IaaS and containers, PyCharm, Visual Studio Code, Confluence, Jira, and German language skills.
