Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of automated testing frameworks for embedded systems and cloud-connected medical-device solutions.
  • Coordinate verification and validation activities, including test planning, execution, defect management, traceability, documentation, and audit readiness.
  • Develop and maintain modular test suites across software, GUI, and hardware layers.
  • Define automation strategies, select tools, establish coding and version-control standards, and promote reusable test assets.
  • Contribute to product concepts, feasibility studies, and design-for-test strategies from early development through market release.
  • Mentor technical contributors and lead or coordinate embedded engineering and testing teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, offshore teams, external partners, vendors, stakeholders, and senior management.
  • Drive continuous improvement, evaluate emerging testing technologies, and support regulatory compliance.
  • Plan project assignments and milestones, prioritize work, and provide technical leadership to business units.
  • Research technologies, maintain research and development documentation, and write technical articles and patent submissions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • At least 9 years of experience architecting, designing, developing, debugging, reviewing, and testing embedded software.
  • At least 2 years leading teams of embedded engineers.
  • At least 6 years of experience in medical-device engineering, verification and validation, or related fields.
  • At least 5 years leading test-automation efforts for regulated medical devices; FDA Class II/III experience is highly desirable.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of a relevant technical field and strong understanding of business-unit functions and cross-group dependencies.
  • Expertise in complex technical problem solving, technical alternatives, and their potential business impact.
  • Associate Certified Coach certification from ICF is preferred.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment, lead projects, mentor staff, and work in a quality-system environment.
