Base Salary
$147k - $202k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect, deploy, and maintain cloud and on-premises infrastructure aligned with high-compliance security baselines.
- Support operations transitioning into disconnected, air-gapped, and top-secret defense environments.
- Design, build, and maintain robust backend services and intuitive frontend interfaces for Okta Identity Governance.
- Maintain security controls, audit readiness, and continuous monitoring for classified networks.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure deployments meet stringent government security standards.
- Drive improvements to CI/CD, observability, documentation, reliability, support processes, and technical debt.
- Partner with Product and Design to own customer outcomes and mentor peer engineers while raising the team’s technical bar.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship and presence on U.S. soil are required.
- Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a high-level U.S. government security clearance; the posting specifies active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Poly.
- 8+ years of software engineering experience shipping enterprise cloud software.
- Hands-on coding experience at scale with Java, Python, or TypeScript and deep proficiency in Java or another type-safe language.
- Experience with REST and gRPC APIs, modern web technologies, JavaScript/TypeScript frontends, and UI automation using Playwright, Selenium, or an equivalent.
- Experience with CircleCI or equivalent CI/CD tooling, Docker, Kubernetes, and a major cloud platform.
- Ability to apply and evaluate AI tooling across the software development lifecycle and establish AI-native engineering practices.
- Experience defining scalable backend architectures, integrating complex APIs, and making organization-wide architectural decisions.
- Understanding of web authentication and authorization fundamentals and secure handling of sensitive user data.
- Preferred experience includes FedRAMP, DoD Impact Levels, air-gapped systems, zero-trust frameworks, data diodes, secure transfer mechanisms, identity governance, Okta, SailPoint, Saviynt, One Identity, Oracle, SSO, SCIM, directory integration, privileged access, SOX, SOC 2, and ISO 27001.
