Responsibilities
- Turn agreed product scope into working products.
- Design, build, and maintain backend services, APIs, and integrations.
- Integrate AI-driven capabilities into products where they address user needs.
- Contribute to frontend development, prototyping, product exploration, testing, and user validation.
- Apply and improve AI-assisted workflows across development, testing, and validation.
- Use data, user insights, and hypotheses to guide implementation and evaluate outcomes.
- Improve security, performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Contribute to deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and operation of delivered software.
- Share knowledge and help colleagues across role boundaries.
- Help shape the AI Lab’s practices as it evolves toward ongoing product responsibilities.
Requirements
- Strong backend engineering expertise in Rust and Node.js/TypeScript, with willingness to work across languages.
- Experience using AI across substantial parts of product delivery beyond individual code generation, including verifying results and applying lessons learned.
- Experience with service and data design, APIs, integrations, architecture trade-offs, automated testing, debugging, and production observability.
- Experience contributing beyond backend engineering through frontend development, prototyping, design exploration, testing, or user validation.
- Experience with advanced AI-native workflows such as agent-based or specification-driven development.
- Ability to structure work for AI, provide context, evaluate resulting software, and take accountability for production outcomes.
- Experience working in a product organization and cross-functional teams with product managers and designers.
- Ability to use data and user insights to test hypotheses, validate value, and share responsibility for post-release outcomes.
- Bonus: experience building ontologies, knowledge bases, company brains, agentic platforms, AI-powered software factories, or domain-specific agent harnesses.
- Bonus: experience with AWS, distributed or event-driven systems, serverless systems, automated delivery pipelines, infrastructure as code, frontend or mobile development, experimentation tooling, or AI/ML product integration.
- Curiosity, ownership, willingness to challenge existing practices, and a collaborative knowledge-sharing approach.
