Base Salary
$132k - $252k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead architecture and design of core software components, libraries, and tooling for avionics systems.
- Drive technical direction and execution across development and verification activities for safety-critical DO-178 software.
- Define and manage software requirements, decomposition, and traceability across complex systems.
- Develop and verify software using modern C++ and object-oriented design principles.
- Own and produce DO-178 certification artifacts, including DAL-A deliverables.
- Lead and support certification efforts with customers and regulatory authorities.
- Conduct and participate in peer reviews across the software lifecycle.
- Collaborate with engineering, program leadership, and customers on integrated technical solutions.
- Travel domestically and internationally as required.
Requirements
- A STEM degree and 10 years of relevant experience, or an advanced related degree and 7 years of experience.
- U.S. citizenship because only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under the program or contract.
- Experience designing and developing software architecture, libraries, or platform-level components in aerospace or safety-critical environments.
- Ability to lead technical project execution, engage customers, and present to senior stakeholders.
- Hands-on experience with DO-178 software development and certification activities, including requirements, verification, or certification artifacts.
- Experience working across cross-functional engineering and program teams.
- Preferred experience with C++ and VxWorks.
- Preferred experience writing high-level and low-level requirements, test cases, and automated test procedures.
- Preferred experience with civil DO-178 DAL A certification.
- Preferred experience with flight management systems, software, aircraft applications, or middleware.
- Familiarity with revision control concepts and tools such as Git, Subversion, and Jira.
