Responsibilities
- Lead customer technical projects by designing and delivering production-grade systems, reference architectures, custom applications, data ingestion, and ML/AI model integrations.
- Guide end-to-end design, build, deployment, evaluation, and adoption of big data and AI applications.
- Own architecture and design decisions to ensure secure, scalable solutions aligned with customer needs and Databricks best practices.
- Embed with customer teams, manage technical stakeholders, provide training, and translate complex challenges into actionable solutions.
- Coordinate with engagement managers, project managers, architects, customer teams, engineering, and customer support to deliver projects and resolve issues.
- Create reusable accelerators, frameworks, and best practices that scale across accounts and inform the Databricks product roadmap.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of experience in data engineering, data platforms and analytics, or software engineering.
- Ability to write code in Python, Scala, JavaScript, or TypeScript and work with modern frameworks.
- Working knowledge of at least two cloud ecosystems—AWS, Azure, or GCP—with expertise in at least one.
- Deep experience with distributed computing using Apache Spark and knowledge of Spark runtime internals.
- Working knowledge of MLOps, ML/AI models, and AI APIs.
- Experience designing and deploying performant end-to-end data architectures and applications combining data pipelines, ML/AI models, and user-facing interfaces.
- Experience delivering technical projects, managing scope and timelines, and defining measurable outcomes.
- Experience working with enterprise clients and managing conflicts across broad stakeholder groups.
- Strong documentation and whiteboarding skills, curiosity, adaptability, and willingness to explore technologies supporting Databricks-based solutions.
- Databricks Certification is required or expected.
- Willingness to travel to customers 20% of the time.
