Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate team-level projects that improve reliability across a large distributed architecture.
- Design and implement complex reliability solutions and internal platforms.
- Build an AI agent to improve incident response and serve as a senior Incident Commander during major outages.
- Lead blameless post-mortems and identify single points of failure in complex systems.
- Develop and scale a self-service platform for large-scale distributed performance testing with real-time observability.
- Build an automated resiliency platform for continuous fault injection and lead quarterly data center failover experiments.
- Own system reliability, manage technical debt, and automate infrastructure.
- Mentor less experienced engineers, set code-quality standards, and influence architecture decisions.
Requirements
- Deep understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture.
- Proficiency in at least one infrastructure and backend programming language: Kotlin, Java, Python, or Go.
- Advanced hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, networking, and service mesh concepts.
- Hands-on experience with Chaos Engineering, fault injection, failure scenarios, and performance testing; Gatling experience is a plus.
- Deep experience configuring monitoring and observability stacks such as Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK.
- Experience acting as an Incident Commander during major outages.
- Strong practical knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools.
- A track record of mentoring engineers, setting code-quality standards, and shaping architecture decisions.
