Responsibilities
- Develop reusable, versioned Infrastructure as Code modules and frameworks and define practices for scalability, availability, security, and cost optimization.
- Design and own AWS cloud infrastructure architectures using Infrastructure as Code.
- Build and maintain infrastructure with Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK, and Ansible where applicable.
- Implement infrastructure provisioning and change-management pipelines and automate environment lifecycles.
- Enable immutable infrastructure and self-service provisioning for internal teams.
- Develop platform features, investigate robust architectural solutions, and maintain high standards for quality, stability, performance, and velocity.
- Review architecture designs and code, identify refactoring and performance opportunities, and lead initiatives that improve engineering effectiveness.
- Mentor junior engineers and share advanced technical knowledge across the department.
- Collaborate with architects and product management on platform consistency, technical opportunities, and constraints.
- Research and advance relevant technology trends, communicate technical designs, and contribute to engineering documentation.
Requirements
- 6–9 years of software engineering experience with strong exposure to cloud-native platforms.
- Strong programming skills in Java, Python, or Go.
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code, including Terraform or an equivalent tool.
- Hands-on Kubernetes experience covering deployment, troubleshooting, and scaling.
- Experience with deployment automation and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with observability tools such as CloudWatch, logging, and monitoring systems.
- Understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture.
- Hands-on AWS experience across compute, networking, storage, and security services.
- Preferred experience with Kubernetes/EKS and containerized workloads.
- Preferred familiarity with GitOps workflows, regulated environments such as SOC2, FedRAMP, or HIPAA, cloud cost optimization, and platform engineering or developer enablement teams.
