Base Salary
$157k - $215k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, troubleshoot, and deliver secure, scalable software solutions across multiple technical areas.
- Build and maintain high-quality Java backend services and review and debug code written by other engineers.
- Lead adoption and responsible validation of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices for coding, code review, testing, troubleshooting, and incident analysis.
- Use software development lifecycle tools and automation to improve delivery, code quality, and operational outcomes.
- Identify and automate remediation of recurring issues to improve application and system stability.
- Lead evaluation sessions with vendors, startups, and internal teams concerning architecture, technical capabilities, and integration suitability.
- Contribute to technical documentation and service APIs while ensuring logging, auditability, security, and monitoring.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability in production environments.
- Advanced Java proficiency and practical experience building enterprise backend services with Spring Boot or equivalent Java frameworks.
- Working knowledge of microservices, REST APIs, SQL databases, and NoSQL databases.
- Hands-on experience with Kafka, IBM MQ, Kubernetes, Redis, Amazon MSK, and AWS services.
- Cloud-native experience building, deploying, and operating services in AWS.
- Experience leading enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development and establishing standards for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input/output handling, resiliency, and security controls, including coaching senior engineers or leads.
- Ability to independently solve design and functionality problems with little to no oversight.
- Preferred: JavaScript or TypeScript experience and familiarity with trading systems or the FIX protocol.
