Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end architecture and scope for secure, scalable, reliable, performant, and cost-effective Azure solutions.
- Lead technical design and implementation guidance across ingestion, lakehouse, semantic, consumption, conversational analytics, agent, write-back, and governance layers.
- Design decision-intelligence systems using Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, Lakehouse, Power BI, Databricks, Fabric data agents, and Databricks Genie.
- Advise clients on Power BI and Microsoft Fabric architecture, governance, capacity, tenant management, and deployment strategy.
- Lead discovery and requirements sessions, shape prioritized backlogs, clarify dependencies and risks, and define acceptance criteria tied to business outcomes.
- Guide consultants and engineers through architecture reviews, pull-request reviews, cloud patterns, interfaces, automation, testing, and deployment.
- Lead client workshops, demos, roadmap discussions, solution option development, high-level designs, estimates, and business-development pursuits.
- Mentor senior engineers, technical leads, architects, and cross-project teams, and participate in technical interviews and calibration discussions.
- Create reusable runbooks, workshops, starter repositories, templates, and enablement materials.
- Promote responsible AI-assisted development and modern cloud frameworks, patterns, tools, and practices.
Requirements
- At least 6 years delivering solutions in application development, cloud platform engineering, DevOps, or data and analytics.
- At least 3 years of solution architecture experience and leading development or engineering teams.
- At least 7 years in business intelligence or analytics, or at least 5 years in consulting.
- Deep Power BI expertise, including enterprise dashboards, advanced DAX, Power Query/M, performance optimization, administration, deployment pipelines, tenant management, and workspace management.
- Experience deploying cloud solutions with Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, and Azure SQL DB.
- Experience creating Power BI custom visualizations with Python and R, plus strong SQL and analytical query optimization skills.
- Working familiarity with LLMs, AI-augmented analytics workflows, Model Context Protocol tooling, and AI or machine-learning integrations through APIs, libraries, or cloud AI services.
- Experience architecting decision-intelligence solutions with AI-ready semantic or knowledge models, Fabric data agents, translytical task flows, and AI-augmented decision workflows.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric technologies and/or Databricks technologies, including OneLake, Lakehouse, Direct Lake, Dataflows Gen2, data agents, Delta, Unity Catalog, and Genie.
- Expertise in at least one major public cloud platform, with Azure strongly preferred.
- Deep understanding of relevant domain concepts, languages, frameworks, design patterns, and maintainable system implementation.
- Experience leading hybrid and remote teams across time zones and working in Agile or Scrum environments.
- Experience in consulting or professional services is preferred.
- Ability to work hands-on with implementation while designing and communicating complex cloud architectures.
- Experience operating in large, matrixed consulting or Global System Integrator environments and managing competing priorities across cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, verbal communication, and continuous-learning skills.
