Base Salary
$157k - $230k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own significant backend systems end-to-end, including architecture, design, implementation, and production health
- Partner with product and design to shape requirements and make product decisions
- Apply 0-to-1 product thinking to build tools with tangible impact on clients’ wellbeing
- Mentor engineers, particularly on backend patterns
- Work across the stack as needed, including frontend UI and data systems
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building production software, including meaningful experience at a seed-stage startup or as an early member of a new product team at a later-stage company
- Evidence of increasing scope and ownership over time
- Experience on a high-performing product team working closely with product managers and designers to ship user-focused solutions
- Experience designing and operating reliable, scalable backend systems and APIs, with strong data modeling and architecture skills
- Deep empathy for the people using the products you build
- Track record of mentoring engineers and helping teammates grow
- Experience with Go is a bonus
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Docker is a bonus
- Background in legal, healthcare, or financial services is a bonus
- Experience building consumer products or two-sided marketplaces is a bonus
- Experience evolving systems as teams and traffic scale is a bonus
- Interest in developer experience, internal tooling, or team process improvement is a bonus
