Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain a library providing networking, gameplay, and community features for online gaming.
- Propose and decide application architectures and technical stacks for efficient game-development tooling.
- Support game developers by delivering high-quality tools and collaborating across teams.
- Apply modern C++ practices and implement performance measurement, testing, and optimization strategies.
- Work with engineers using software development best practices, share knowledge, and mentor team members.
- Research emerging technologies and tools and implement relevant best practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience with modern C++, including at least C++11; C++17 or C++20 experience is highly welcomed.
- Knowledge of software architecture, system design, client-server architecture, peer-to-peer communication, and network and server security issues.
- Knowledge of software development and C++ best practices, including version control, testing, and CI/CD.
- Understanding of multithreaded programming and its potential pitfalls.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and strong spoken and written English communication skills.
- Passion for gaming, game services, and online communities.
- Nice-to-have experience with Unreal Engine, multiplatform software, gaming consoles, platform-specific details, and Python.
- Knowledge of multiplayer game services, NAT traversal, low-level network diagnostics, VoIP, code optimization, and networking performance measurement.
- Experience with Conan, GitLab CI, or Kubernetes.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
