Responsibilities
- Develop new LogScale backend features in Scala to handle increasing ingest and query loads.
- Design and deliver solutions to open-ended distributed-systems problems.
- Monitor released features in production and troubleshoot critical customer issues.
- Maintain high availability, scalability, efficient data ingestion and querying, and cluster stability.
- Participate in code reviews, pairing, documentation, design reviews, technical talks, and technical guidance.
- Collaborate across global teams on solution definition, delivery, and internal documentation.
- Contribute to broad technical leadership and operational excellence.
Requirements
- Experience in software development and making pragmatic short-term delivery versus long-term product tradeoffs.
- Experience contributing to broad technical leadership in products or services.
- Fluency in functional and object-oriented programming and ability to learn new languages.
- Demonstrated operational excellence operating services spanning multiple components and geographic regions.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to individual contributors and management.
- Experience using AI technologies to improve decision-making, workflows, efficiency, and business outcomes.
- Passion for distributed systems and curiosity about production systems.
- Experience with Scala, commercial clouds such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and Kafka is advantageous.
- Experience with large-scale distributed-system architecture, scalability, availability, and optimization is advantageous.
- Exposure to log-management or cybersecurity products is advantageous.
