Base Salary

$160k - $200k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Understand customer needs and design systems to address them.
  • Build, scale, and evolve data models, services, and systems powering APIs.
  • Design and ship backend-focused product functionality and internal and customer-facing APIs.
  • Maintain and improve the Python-based microservice stack.
  • Create and improve engineering tooling, processes, and standards.
  • Build Bill Switch, API versioning, tax product, customer dashboard API, and banking partner integrations.
  • Mentor engineers and help the team grow.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience building and maintaining backend or full-stack applications, including data modeling, application logic, and API design.
  • Prior experience at an early-stage startup or small technology company.
  • Deep expertise with modern backend languages or frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, Rails, or Gin.
  • Working experience with modern frontend web frameworks such as React or Vue.
  • Experience playing key implementation roles in projects involving multiple teams and engineers.
  • Comfort working closely with customers.
  • Ability to use AI responsibly while maintaining strong fundamental engineering skills.
