Responsibilities
- Translate ambiguous business requirements into structured technical architectures.
- Design scalable, fault-tolerant, maintainable distributed and microservice-based systems.
- Make and justify architectural trade-offs involving performance, complexity, consistency, availability, and build-versus-buy decisions.
- Design versioned REST and gRPC API contracts with backward compatibility.
- Architect relational and non-relational data-storage strategies, including schema design and query optimization.
- Design event-driven and asynchronous flows using message brokers.
- Anticipate scalability and reliability risks and design for load, failure modes, and observability.
- Produce architecture decision records, technical specifications, diagrams, and other documentation.
- Guide and mentor development teams on best practices, code quality, and Go idioms without formally managing them.
- Communicate technical decisions and trade-offs to Product Owners, Solution Architects, engineers, and business stakeholders.
- Evaluate technologies, tools, and frameworks for the technical roadmap.
- Balance hands-on Go coding with architectural oversight.
Requirements
- 7+ years of overall software development experience.
- 4–5+ years of hands-on, production-level Go experience with goroutines, channels, context, the memory model, and concurrency patterns.
- Higher education in Computer Science or software development.
- Extensive experience working with AI and implementing or configuring AI within a team.
- Experience in fintech, banking, or other regulated or high-compliance domains.
- Proven experience designing distributed, microservice-based, and/or high-load systems.
- Strong REST and/or gRPC API design expertise, including versioning and backward compatibility.
- Solid understanding of PostgreSQL and MySQL, including schema design, query optimization, and transactions.
- Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or NATS and event-driven architecture.
- Strong knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and modern DevOps practices.
- Understanding of scalability, fault tolerance, security, observability, metrics, logging, and tracing.
- Experience with architecture reviews and design documentation such as ADRs and technical specifications.
- Strong communication skills for explaining architectural decisions to technical and business stakeholders.
- Readiness to work from 9:00 to 18:00 CEST.
- Readiness to complete a live Go coding task during the client interview.
- Preferred experience includes MongoDB, Cassandra, ClickHouse, Redis, AWS, GCP, Azure, DDD, SRE practices, AI/LLM production integration, open-source Go contributions, additional programming languages, and relevant cloud architecture certifications.
