Responsibilities
- Drive the design, development, implementation, documentation, and delivery of scalable software platforms.
- Create high- and low-level designs, lead design discussions, and make technical decisions within architectural guidelines.
- Develop and prototype technical solutions for strategic initiatives using hands-on software engineering skills.
- Collaborate with architects, product management, business stakeholders, and cross-functional engineering teams across geographies.
- Apply established delivery practices to meet quality, cost, and delivery objectives.
- Contribute to Walmart’s engineering community and leverage expertise from teams across international markets.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in designing and developing highly scalable applications and platforms.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or a related area plus 4 years of software engineering experience, or 6 years of software engineering experience.
- Strong foundations in computer science, including data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
- Hands-on experience developing microservices and RESTful web services in Java using Spring Boot, Dropwizard, or an equivalent framework.
- In-depth knowledge of cloud architecture, microservice architecture, service registries, ELK or Splunk, virtual machines, and container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with Git, Maven, Jenkins, and DevOps and CI/CD development environments or tools.
- Demonstrated end-to-end ownership of at least one cloud-based project.
- Master’s degree in a relevant computer science or software engineering field plus 2 years of related experience is preferred.
