Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end architecture of agentic AI solutions, including orchestration, tool and function calling, memory and state, retrieval, evaluation, observability, cost, and latency.
- Lead design reviews, pairing, and code reviews while raising the engineering capabilities of the team.
- Define reference architectures, agentic patterns, guardrails, testing and evaluation strategies, deployment topology, and standards for non-deterministic systems.
- Make and defend build, buy, and adapt decisions across frameworks, models, and platforms.
- Prototype and implement complex orchestration, evaluation harnesses, and integrations, and take prototypes to production grade.
- Deliver reliability, monitoring, versioning, rollback, and human-in-the-loop capabilities where appropriate.
- Represent Capco as the senior technical voice in client discussions, workshops, pitches, and solution engagements.
- Advise clients on AI architecture, platform strategy, model and vendor strategy, governance, and operating-model implications.
- Produce reference architectures, points of view, whitepapers, and presentations for client forums and conferences.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in software or data engineering, including genuine enterprise architecture experience.
- Strong Python or equivalent programming skills and willingness to remain hands-on with production code.
- Demonstrable experience with agentic loops and orchestration, tool use and function calling, multi-agent patterns, MCP or comparable integration approaches, and AI solution evaluation.
- Deep experience with at least one major cloud platform and its surrounding practices, including containers, infrastructure as code, observability, and security.
- Ability to engage senior client stakeholders, explain technical trade-offs clearly, and work effectively in a consulting environment.
- Demonstrated interest in improving the capabilities and independence of other engineers.
- Experience in financial services or energy and knowledge of sector regulations is valuable.
- Consulting or client-facing delivery experience is valuable.
- Open-source contributions, publications, or a speaking track record are valuable.
- Hands-on AI governance, risk, or assurance experience is valuable.
- French proficiency alongside fluent English is valuable.
