Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Build and maintain full-stack marketplace features spanning search, ranking, backend systems, and renter-facing UI.
- Support and extend ML Ops infrastructure, including model deployment pipelines, feature stores, and monitoring, primarily using Chalk and Vertex AI.
- Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to bring machine learning models into production reliably and at scale.
- Write clean, well-tested code and participate in code reviews.
- Contribute to technical planning and break complex problems into executable work.
- Identify and address performance, reliability, and scalability issues.
- Communicate progress, surface blockers, and collaborate with distributed cross-functional teams.
- Mentor other engineers.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with meaningful backend or full-stack development work.
- Proficiency in at least one backend language: TypeScript, Python, Go, or Ruby.
- Exposure to machine learning concepts and comfort working alongside data scientists and ML systems.
- Experience using AI tools to improve workflows and reduce feedback loops.
- Experience working in cloud environments, with GCP preferred and AWS or Azure also considered.
- Strong communication, debugging, ownership, and cross-time-zone collaboration skills.
- Preferred experience with Vertex AI, MLflow, Kubeflow, or similar ML Ops tooling.
- Preferred familiarity with feature pipelines, model deployment, or A/B experimentation infrastructure.
- Preferred experience with search or recommendation systems and online marketplaces.
Benefits
- US total target compensation includes zone-based ranges, with base salary ranges of $189,000-$229,000 in Zone 1, $175,000-$212,000 in Zone 2, and $161,000-$195,000 in Zone 3, plus equity.
