Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Translate UX research insights and high-fidelity prototypes into actionable design specifications and production-ready React interfaces.
- Build responsive, accessible, performant front-end applications and reusable UI components.
- Define and enforce UI/UX, front-end coding, consistency, and design-system standards.
- Evaluate and validate designs for Section 508, WCAG, usability, performance, and federal digital-service requirements.
- Conduct or support usability testing, prototyping, feedback cycles, and validation within Agile sprint cycles.
- Collaborate with product owners, UI architects, developers, HCD specialists, QA, compliance teams, and customer stakeholders.
- Produce HCD implementation plans, accessibility and compliance reports, and standardized design-system templates and components.
- Present design and development rationale to technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirements
- 8+ years of UI/UX design development experience, including 5+ years in a human-centered design role supporting enterprise or government applications.
- 10+ years of general information systems experience and 8+ years of specialized experience.
- Strong proficiency in React, including reusable functional components, state and props, responsive interfaces, and production integration.
- Proficiency with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript, Sass or other CSS preprocessors, and responsive design principles.
- Experience with usability testing methods such as heuristic evaluations, card sorting, and A/B testing.
- Proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Storybook, Axure, and Miro.
- Practical knowledge of Section 508 and WCAG compliance, preferably including federal digital modernization experience.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in HCI, design, or a related field; specified equivalent experience may substitute for education.
- Familiarity with DesignOps, UX governance, analytics-based UX optimization, secure interface principles, and AI-assisted UX tools.
- Excellent communication, presentation, analytical, problem-solving, consulting, and stakeholder relationship skills.
- Preferred or desirable certifications include CUA, Certified HCD Professional, SAFe Agile Practitioner, Section 508 Trusted Tester, and UX/HCD certifications.
