- Design and develop highly scalable, performant Java services and APIs.
- Build and maintain systems that back up and restore exabytes of data.
- Integrate AI coding agents and frameworks to accelerate development, refactor legacy components, and improve code quality.
- Participate in estimation, design, development, and delivery across the technical lifecycle.
- Diagnose complex issues and maintain the stability of large-scale production systems.
- Collaborate with QA, Data Centers, Marketing, Product Management, Support, Legal/Compliance, and Security.
- Provide technical leadership and foster engineering excellence across functional teams.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience with Java and an understanding of backend architecture.
- A broad track record of project deliveries and successfully shipping software systems.
- Professional experience incorporating AI-assisted development tools such as Gemini, Cursor, or Claude Code into an engineering workflow.
- Experience with relational databases such as MySQL, Vitess, and SQLite.
- Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenSearch.
- Experience with JSON and XML data formats.
- Comfort working across MacBooks, Linux, and Windows environments.
- Filesystem exposure to Ext4, NTFS, and HFS+ is nice to have.
- Strong desire to learn and adapt to changing technologies and tools.
